Welcome to the Sand Section. The home sits on 2nd Street, a car-free walk street, and The Strand and the beach are about 3 minutes on foot, so mornings start with a walk to the water and evenings end with the sun dropping into the Pacific.
Cruise The Strand, then walk about 10 minutes to Manhattan Beach Pier and about 15 minutes to the Roundhouse Aquarium at its end. Downtown Manhattan Beach is about 10 minutes on foot, with dinner above the water at The Strand House, shared plates at Manhattan Beach Post and burgers at Simmzy's.
Hermosa Beach Pier is about 4 to 5 minutes by car to the south. Then it is back up the walk street for a soak in the hot tub as the evening cools

Dinner at The Strand House (about 10 minutes on foot) Ocean-view dining above the pier; reserve a window table for sunset. Manhattan Beach Post (about 10 minutes on foot) Chef David LeFevre's shared plates downtown, with Fishing with Dynamite, his seafood and oyster bar, a few doors away. The pier and Roundhouse Aquarium (about 15 minutes on foot) Walk to the end of the pier for the small marine aquarium and the view back along the coast. Hermosa Beach Pier (about 5 minutes by car) Drive or ride The Strand south to Pier Plaza for a casual afternoon in the neighboring beach town.
Manhattan Beach is best enjoyed on foot: The Strand, Downtown Manhattan Beach and Manhattan Beach Pier are all within about 10 minutes of the front door. When you want to go further, the two-car garage makes it easy to drive to Manhattan Village, about 6 to 8 minutes by car, and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), about 15 to 20 minutes by car without traffic. Uber and Lyft are widely available.
